Location
Our home is located in a secure, gated golf community with 24 hour security, located within a few minutes drive of all major theme parks but in a peaceful, relaxing location. Within the community are tennis courts, a playground for small children, a large community pool and a small gym and library. The Golf Course is Southern Dunes (No 6 on Golf Digests Best Courses to Play in the state) and the great practice facilities (driving range, putting green, chipping green, pitching and bunker green) as well as the first tee are within a 30 second drive by car or 3 minutes by foot. The Clubhouse serves excellent breakfasts, lunches and a Sunday Buffet and has a decent bar. There are several good family restaurants within 800 yards and a Wal-Mart one minutes drive/10 minutes walk away. As always, there are a number of fast food places nearby including Quiznos, Chequers Burger Bar, Pizzas, and Chinese (that will deliver). There are also some really nice restaurants like Manny's Original Chophouse) and a couple of Sports Bars as well as an off licence.
Features
The house has an ideal floor plan for different types of group. There is plenty of room for one family or for larger groups - we have accommodated a family + Grandparents, 2 families and groups of up to 12 plus an infant. There are 5 bedrooms (2 king, 1 queen and 2 twins). We also have a cot, high chair and stroller plus stair guards and a patio door alarm to the pool area for smaller guests. The master suite is on the ground floor with the queen bedroom that has a shower room next to it. The upper floor has another king bedroom with 2 twin rooms that share a full bathroom. All linen and towels are provided and our rates include an end of stay clean as well as all applicable taxes.
Pool Area
Our heated pool and separate spa overlook the 18th hole of the golf course, providing a relaxing area to swim, sunbathe or watch the golfers and cranes (birds not machines). There are 4 loungers, 6 chairs and 2 tables poolside that includes as shaded area to avoid the VERY hot sun. We have a high quality Weber gas grill for barbecues - gas is free although we request guests to clean the grill at the end of their stay (or pay additional cleaning charge).
Inside
Our guests like the separate dining room and kitchen eating area as well as eating at the tables on the pool deck. The laundry room includes a washer and separate dryer. We have fully equipped our "home from home" with everything from a garlic press to a breadmaker in the kitchen which includes microwave, large oven and hob, waste disposal, blender, toaster, 2 coffee machines and an expresso maker and toaster oven.
Entertainment
There ARE occasionally bad weather days in Florida so if you need to amuse the group, we have a number of board and card games as well as a large library of books suitable from small children to adults. The sitting room has a 42" Flatscreen TV with soundbar (that you can connect an MP3 player to) and DVD/Video player and has a couple of hundred channels of digital TV. There is a PlayStation 2 AND an XBOX (games can be brought with you or rented from the Blockbuster just outside the Security Gate. Videos can be rented from Walmart or Blockbuster.
There are sofas, a games table, sound system and a soft tipped dartboard in the garage for older children or adults.
